(Ok, now I have that song stuck in my head-wonder how long that'll be there?) I picked up my sock pal's info earlier today and can hardly wait to get started! I have 2 different socks in progress (both from Sock Madness) and a 3rd one just waiting for it's yarn to be balled up (also from Sock Madness) plus a final exam to turn in on Tuesday-yet I can barely keep myself from going through all my patterns and sock yarn to find the perfect fit for her. I can hardly wait to get started!

Hi everyone! I'm from Hong Kong and this is my first time at Sockapalooza. Thank you Alison, I'm absolutely thrilled to be here, and just can't wait to get started.
Oooh, by the way, let me share with you these DIY Sock Blockers that I made recently. In case anyone is interested, the tutorial is now available on my blog.
Cheers,
Maryann ;o)

Has everyone gotten their assigned pal? I didn't get an email yet... I'm assuming that since there are a thousand of us it's taking some time. I have been sorting through patterns and I think I know what I'm going to knit - I just need to find out what my pal wants!!
Socks Rock!

Hi! My name is Carrie and I live in St. Paul Minnesota. I've been knitting for a number of years and I consider socks my favorite item to knit. This is my 3rd sockapalooza and I'm excited as ever. I blog here mostly about knitting but also about my Weimaraner Casey Blue and other random things going on in my life. I'm looking forward to following everyones progress on this blog, great idea Alison! And thank you for once again planning this spectacular knit along!!

Howdy, all
I am in the Midlands of South Carolina (middle of the state) and this is my first time participating in sockapalooza. I am so excited to be involved in this. I had gotten away from blogging, but today I set up a new blog. Not much there yet, but give me time...

Hello all! With any luck I'll finally be able to post this time, lol. This is my first time at Sockapaloooza and I'm very excited. Just thinking about seeing pictures of 1000 pairs of socks to covet is a bit dizzying :)

This is my first time in Sockapalooza and I'm so incredibly excited!
I got my sock recipient's information today and she's totally flexible which is exciting and daunting at the same time. Definitely gives me a lot of patterns and sock yarns to choose from.
I can't wait to see what every one comes up with.
Let the fun begin,
Amanda

I'm completely thrilled. I got my sock pal today (as did pretty much everybody else), and I am going to start rooting through my sock yarn and see if I already have a good match. While I ponder the appropriate yarn, I have a question (or a request for advice).
I've been making socks for a couple of years now, but I've only finally gotten to the point where my socks fit me pretty much all the time. (I have a tendency to come out a little big). Any advice on how to make sure that the socks I'm making will actually fit the intended recipient (her feet are a little bit bigger than mine, so trying them on as I go won't really cut it).
Thanks! See you here and at my blog!

... after a somewhat dreary Monday, I was very happy to check my email and discover my sockapalooza pal had sent me a message!
I feel so special already ;-)
I'm Annie, this is my first sockapalooza, and I promise I will behave! I post about knitting and other fun things at www.anniebee.vox.com
Thanks Alison!

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and this is my first Sockapalooza. I'm very excited to get to the yarn store and pick out something fabulous for my sock pal. I live just blocks from the Mississippi, the weather is warming up here, and I can't think of many better ways to spend a few afternoons than sitting in the sun knitting a pair of socks!

A few days ago I went to update a bit of my measurement info in the database and it said that my address wasn't in there - I figured someone was playing with the data and I would check back later. Yesterday I found out that folks were getting their sock pal matches. I haven't received an email about a sock pal, and the database still says that my email address doesn't exist in the database. I *am* listed on the list of participants though, and did get the Blogger invite.
Any ideas?
All fixed -- Please ignore!

Blogger finally let me post!
I'm Jacqui, a first time sockpaloozer. I've knit dozens of socks, and often knit and read at the same time--provided the book will stay open! I'm a homeschooler, and will be graduating in May from our family's homeschool. College looms in the fall in PA (Anyone here from Grove City?? Is there a LYS there??) and I'll miss my family (and my 8 younger siblings) dearly.
Here's my latest sock project, with (my first good skein of) yarn I spun myself! The pattern is modified from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks pattern "Evening Stockings for a Young Lady."

Wow, I cannot get over how many people are in this dealio! And how many from all over the world. This is my first time for Sockapalooza and for any exchange for that matter. I'm as excited as everyone else seems to be. I've been knitting for about 20 years, but consider myself new to the world of socks having only been knitting them for about 3 years now. I do have a blog which I'm trying to keep relatively up-to-date.
I am so looking forward to this!

I've been trying to post an intro for a few days but I keep getting told I need to sign on again. I went and did all of the things that were suggested so hopefully this works!
My name is Trish, I have been knitting for about 2 1/2 years and knitting socks for over 1 1/2 years of that time. I have never participated in a swap before so I am nervous and excited all at the same time. Here are a few of my most recent pairs:
I can't wait until we get our matches so I can decide what I will make. I look forward to getting to know all of you over the next few months.

Hi, I'm Cindy in Oregon and I'm a knitting addict! So happy to be part of this, my first Sockapalooooza. I have enough sock yarn to make lots of socks, so the first challenge will be figuring out which skein is just right for my sockret pal, then picking a pattern. :)

Hi, I'm Diana from California, and I can't wait to start!! This is my first Sockapalooza, I first heard about it from a sock knitter that did it last year. She bought one of my bags to hold her socks in progress for Sockapalooza 4. Socka-wha?? Wow! And I was introduced to knitting blogs! I was addicted, and even started a blog of my own, although it has everything and all things in there! From heirloom tomatoes, raising wild silkmoths, and cycling. lol.
I think I'm going to try and dye some yarn for my sock pal...this is going to be fun!!

OK - so how many people have the song from Aladdin in their head after reading my title? Oh, wait, not everyone is as dorky as I am. Never mind. So this is my first sockapalooza AND my first time posting to a blog! Wow. Someday I'll have to start a blog of my own, but I'll start slow by posting to this one : ). I'm SO EXCITED! But alas, I just checked my pal's info and she hasn't listed her measurements or preferences yet!! What is an impatient sockapalooza-er to do.....

This is sooo exciting. It is my first swop ever and I have just looked to see who my pal is and I think its going to be great fun. But my pal has no blog....I wanted to be nosy, see what they do, what they get up to so everyone go and make yourselves a blog because I could be your pal ;)
Having said that, I WILL update my blog this week. It has been a tad neglected this last few weeks.
Anyway, I am Nic, from the UK and have been knitting socks for a year now. Favouring 2 circulars to the 4 needle variety but you never know, I don't know what or how I am going to knit my sockpalooza socks yet.
Oooh just noticed that my pal does have a blog. All too exciting, I want to start knitting now but I need to work and sew and being a Mum for a bit longer yet then I will play later.....

My name is Angi. I am a Doula in Southern Ohio. I've been knitting socks since January 2000. I learned from the Spinfree S.O.C.K.S. class
I participated in the first sockapalooza but took a break for exchanges 2 and 3. I'm looking forward to this round! I'm sharing my blog space with my daughter in law for this event. She is a very talented knitter.
I'm anxious to see the patterns and colors people choose for their socks!

Wow, has it been difficult to post a "hi"!! It's so wonderful that there's such a great, international, sock-loving community out there. This is my first sock- (or anything-) exchange, and I'm so excited I can hardly wait to begin! I'm hoping I can begin (to put off school work) very soon.

I've been knitting for about 7 years and started socks around 3 or so years ago. I'm currently trying to finish up a pair for a friend that attended the birth of my 1 yo (yes, they've been on the needles for a while!) and I just finished a two-tone pair in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino for the baby.
Now that my "baby" is a toddler and her brother is 4, I'm ready to knit all the projects I've dreamt of for the last year. This is my first Sockapalooza and I can't wait to pick a pattern and yarn for my sock pal! You can visit my blog here.

Seems like most of us are having a hard time getting in here to post. Hopefully, this post will make it - the last one didn't and of course, I didn't save the draft. Learning curve, obviously!
I missed the first Sockapaloosa, but have participated in each one since. It is a lot of fun watching the excitement grow each time Alison hosts Sockapaloosa.
Bad timing though for the intro. I am going to be out of town for several weeks - and don't have a laptop for on the road communication. So if you haven't heard from your swap partner, it could very well be me!
I'll catch up once I am home again. Really looking forward to learning about my swap partner. Now if I can just remember not to sign off with my real name!

Hello fellow sock-knitters! Greetings from Portland, OR where it's currently sunny. (Rain in the forecast by Tuesday, of course.) I am new to sockapalooza and new to knitting socks! My grandmother taught me to knit when I was a child (twice, in fact), and I've been hitting the sticks off-and-on since then. I've not yet knit socks, so this is going to force me to face the dreaded turning of the heel.
I blog occasionally about my personal life here (sometimes there's even knitting content) and regularly about my second grade class here. My students know I'm a knitting junkie who loves coffee.
And visions of sock yarn danced in my head...

I live on the Indiana/Ohio state line and I am going to college at Ivy Tech Community College. I've been knitting for a couple of years and I'm just now getting into socks. I'm still working on the second sock of my first pair that I started back in either February or March. I'm excited to be in my first Sockapalooza and can't wait to start.

I was quite surprised to make it into the blog today - I suppose Blogger decided it was my turn to come play.
The timing isn't the best though. I leave tomorrow for an extended work trip and will be incommunicado for several weeks. So my sock pal on both ends - never fear! I'll be back and I'm excited about Sockapalooza 4.
I missed out on Sockapalooza 1. But it is fun to see the growth and excitement every time Alison hosts a Sokapalooza swap.
Now if I can just remember to not use my real name and give away my identity!

This is my first sock exchange, ever, and I am still pretty new to the whole "Blog World" . I have been looking forward to this exchange, and am amazed that there are 1,000 of us taking part! that's a lot of warm cozy feet!
Once I get my match, I look forward to figuring out what colour and pattern sock will be just the right "fit" for my partner! (and I hope I can keep my identity a secret! I am terrible with surprizes and will be bursting at the seams to tell!!)
I am looking forward to reading and seeing all the fun ideas people have for their partners, and to exploring some of the knitting blogs ... it'll be fun getting to know you all!

Hi everyone. :) The post title is a poor transliteration of Arabic for hi and welcome from Egypt, where I'm currently studying abroad. As my father so cheerfully reminded me last night, I come home in 34 days (not like anyone's counting...sheesh) and will be back in the land of yarn bounty, where people do NOT look at me cross-eyed when I bring out the DPNs. This is my first Sockapalooza and my first swap ever. I'm so excited! I've already starting brainstorming different patterns I might use. This all, of course, depends on my pal's preferences. :) I'm thinking something exciting, though.
If anyone's interested, I blog here.

If anyone's interested, I blog here.

Hi everyone. :) The title heading is a poor transliteration of Arabic for hi and welcome from Egypt, where I'm currently studying abroad. :)

I've been attempting to post a 'hi' message to this blog for days now (for some reason Blogger/Google keeps giving me errors), so here's hoping it works!
This is my first Sockapalooza and I'm really looking forward to it.
Thanks for organising Alison.

Hello All!
This will be my second time around with Sockapalooza and I can't wait. Looking forward to our pal assignments. I already have some yarns in mind. They are from Cabin Cove, in the campfire and canoe color ways..if they don't fit my pal's questionnaire I'll just have to keep them for myself, lol!!

Hi I have been knitting socks for about two years. I live in Virginia Beach VA. Even if we don't have the coldest winters my feet are nice and warm. I also knit socks for CIC (Children In Common) and the Dulaan project. Just think of all those warm toes.
Matching all the people up must be a brain breaker. I am looking forward to getting my swap partner. I found little metal boxes with chocolate truffles. The box would be great for storing stitch markers. Of course you have to eat the chocolate first :-}
My blog is here http://lostpurl.blogspot.com/ I just finished two pairs of socks.

Boy, I hope this post works this time! I am really excited to be a part of sockapalooza 4! This is the first time I have participated, but I have been knitting socks pretty much constantly for the last couple of years. I can't wait to find out who I am knitting for-- I am always looking for new people to knit socks for. I have a huge sock yarn stash that I really want to use up, but the discounts in the sidebar are looking mighty tempting. uh oh...
I just started up a new blog about a month ago. Come visit me at http://dandelionknits.typepad.com/.

I am a fairly new sock knitter, for quite a while I let myself get intimidated by all the "fiddly" bits. But now i am a true convert, i just finished up my 3rd pair, have my 4th and 5th on the needles (a Jaywalker and a sort of Sauvie Island) and have quite a few more pairs planned out in my head.
I am incredibly excited to be joining sockapalooza this year, and can't wait to take on the challenge of knitting socks for a foot that isn't mine.

This is the first time I've participated, too. I've been so glad to see all the other first timers.
By way of introduction, I'm a West Virginian living in Pennsylvania by way of Ohio and Tennessee. We lived near Knoxville long enough to get used to the warmer weather, so warm sox were greatly appreciated during this past winter up north!
I've knit sox for several years in sizes from newborn up to a man's shoe size 15. Most of what I've knit has been gifted. I'm feeling extremely excited to be on the receiving end of a pair of sox, since this has never happened to me before.

Hello from rainy Syracuse, NY :) I'm Kim and I'm looking forward to getting started!
I work at Syracuse University, so we are getting close to the end of the "year" and are almost at the finish line and the beginning of summer break. I can't wait! That will give me so much more time for knitting.

Hello from Texas! I have been knitting for 3 years and reading knit blogs for almost that long. The two things just go hand in hand for me. But I have never started my own blog, so this is a real first for me. Not having a blog has kept me from joining any swaps up till this time, so I'm glad Alison set this one up. I'm sure it will be a learning experince for me.
No one in my family is really in love with the idea of hand-knit socks (I think because they haven't experienced them yet!), so I am excited to be making a pair for someone who will really appreciate them.

I'm ALSO a Sockapalooza Newbie, but not new to sock knitting! I can't wait for this swap to start. I'm a 43 yo homeschooling mom of 3 boys (8,15, 18), and mom to a new Schnoodle puppy and geriatric shepherd as well. My blog is KnottyKnitterKris.blogspot.com. Come over and say hello!
I'm a certified sockaholic...and let Sockapalooza 4 begin!

Hello everyone! I'm an intermediate sock knitter, currently working on a pair of socks for me from Nancy Bush's Knitting on the Road. I am a stay-at-home mom of two kiddos, a 2.5 year old girl and a 4 month old boy.
I'm so excited to be doing sockapalooza! I read about it last time, but didn't get in on it in time. I can't wait to start!!! You can read my blog to see some of my other knitting exploits.

Hello all! I participated in Sockapalooza 3 and thought it so much fun, I wanted to do it again :) So, here we go. Last year I dyed the yarn myself and designed my own pattern for the socks, and plan to do so again. :)
I have a blog, which is mostly in Finnish, but I'll try to start posting in English again. I'll translate everything concerning Sockapalooza in English, of course. :)
I also have a couple of free sock patterns in my blog: the green merino socks and the Celtic Braid Socks. I hope you like them, please leave a comment in case there's an error.

Hi--I'm so relieved to finally succeed in registering! This is my first time in Sockapalooza, and I'm looking forward to getting started. Wow, did I have a hard time getting this post up!
I'm a first time Sockapalooza-er, too. I've heard so many good things about the past rounds that I just had to join in this time! I've been knitting socks for about a year, and they're my favorite thing to make! I'm totally sock-obsessed - sock books and yarn are taking over my life right now. Currently on the needles are Bayerische, the scroll lace socks from More Sensational Knitted Socks, and the latest Rockin Sock Club socks. Next in the queue are RPM, embossed leaves, and Baudelaire. And some socks for my BFF and her daughters. And, of course, socks for my pal, whoever that person is!
I can't wait to see who my pal is going to be!
(I blog here and take photos here.)

This is my first Sockapalooza exchange, and I'm looking forward to it very much!
I had a difficult time getting past the Blogger invitation page, too, but finally -- "Your invitation is important to us! Please try again in 30 seconds! Your invitation is important to us! Please try again in 30 seconds!" -- finally it went through. I don't know if it was the cut-and-paste trick that Alison mentioned earlier, or just dumb luck, but if you are having trouble, keep trying!
To keep myself from jumping the gun (ooh, I accidentally wrote "jumping the fun"), and starting a sock for a pal I know nothing about yet, I cast on something I've been longing to do for myself, one of the basic socks in Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks -- this one is in Regia Silk in the "Venezia" colorway. It will give me time to ponder the perfect pal sock!

Hey! Another sockapalooza virgin here! I've been knitting for about 5 years and have been making socks since the beginning. I learned to knit socks about 2 months after I began knitting. I'm first timer from Finland. I learned to knit in school, handicrafts are mandatory here. I cannot remember my first pair of socks but I'm quite sure they were ugly, blueish-grey DK weight yarn because we had no choice of yarns in school.
I started knitting actively a year ago. I realized handknitted socks don't have to be thick and fingering weight yarn exists, and after that I've knitted several pairs for myself.

Wow! There have been so many introductions that I can hardly keep up with them all. I'm excited to be a part of Sockapalooza 4! I have been looking through my books and patterns and am so inspired. I still have two more patterns to receive through Sock Madness. I can hardly wait to get my pal and learn which socks will be the best match. This is my first time in Sockapalooza, but I have knit many pairs of socks, been in my share of knitalongs and swaps, and have been blogging along over here for awhile. I love knitting socks. I want to knit for my pal, but my sock needles are itching for a new pair and may not wait that long.

I tried to post an introduction several times last night, so I'm really hoping that this works this time. I've never known blogger to hiccup like this before...
Let's get to it then-
I'm a first timer to the whole Palooza thing, but I caught the tail end of the last round thanks to Wendy , and I knew that I had to get in on the next round. The whole reason I taught myself to knit 2 years ago was so that I could make hand-knit socks. A coworker of mine had some made by a friend of hers, and I fell in love. I wanted to do that. And so begins the tale of my relationship with yarn and needles (before that it was a crochet hook).
I love cables and pretty much every sock that Cookie A. designs. So, I'm really interested in seeing if my match has the same interests, or if I'm going to be broadening my skills with something new on this particular pair of socks.
I can usually be found here.
Let the fun begin!

Hi all!
Many of you have been having problems with Blogger. Blogger says it doesn't have a limit as to how many members can be on a blog or how many posts you can have, but I have a feeling we're testing it here with Sockapalooza! Update: Yes, the official word from Blogger is that they "can't handle" a blog this size. Hmmm... they might should change that line about no limits, huh? Stay tuned for more info on how we can stay in touch with each other and keep up with each other's progress. Big things are in the works!
Here are some of the common problems.
Problem #1: Invitation doesn't work.
Some people have had luck copying and pasting the link into a new window. Some people have had the link finally work after a day. Others have had me resend it. Over 600 members have already signed up, so I feel like we should be able to get everyone into the blog. If anyone has any more suggestions, leave 'em in the comments!
Problem #2: You're a member of the blog, see it on your dashboard, but can't post because blogger keeps asking you to sign in again.
Lots of people are having this problem. Blogger has a few tips about solving this problem here. Has the problem gone away for anyone? If anyone knows more about the issue or has any more info, leave it in the comments, okay?
Problem #3: You're trying to do something (like post) and you get error messages.
I'm having this problem too. I get a server error with practically everything I try to do. I'm surprised by this since the blog isn't that big yet and even though we have 600 members, imagine how many people are accessing Blogger all day long. 600 should be just a blip to them. And we're not ALL posting at the same time.
Anyway, often I notice it'll do what I was trying to do even though all I get is an error. So if this happens, WAIT a few minutes and see if your post did go through. We've got lots of duplicate posts when people keep retrying over and over. Unfortunately, I can't access the posts at all to edit them (yup, I get an error!), so I can't delete any duplicates as of right now. Does anyone have any other helpful info about this?
Lastly, I have to remind you that I don't run Blogger. I don't know how to fix these problems. I have reported our problems to Blogger and I know some of you have too. I hope they can help us. If the blog is too big, I can break it up into smaller blogs, but according to Blogger's own info this shouldn't be necessary. I've got my fingers crossed that we'll get this all settled in the first few weeks here and then can focus on our knitting!!

I tried three times to post last night, but no deal, so I'll give it a try this morning.
Hi everyone, I'm Bridget, and this is my first sockapalooza. I love knitting socks, though most of the time I just knit a basic pattern, and let the yarn do the work. But I actually finish my sock projects in a reasonable amount of time, so that may contribute to my fondness for them ...
Anyway, I'm excited to be involved, and love reading where everyone is from - it makes me feel like I "know" a lot of people in other places!
I have a blog here, I hope you'll stop by and say hello.
Sock on!

I had terrible trouble trying to post this last night (as did a few others, I see), so... hopefully it'll go through today. :)
Long-time sock knitter, newbie Sockapalooza participant, saying hello to the group! I'm quite excited about this (I guess just about everyone who signed up is, or else we wouldn't have signed up!) Just a bit about me ... I'm a 25-year-old living in Raleigh, NC, and I basically grew up in my mom's yarn store (Yarn Expressions in Huntsville, AL). I've been knitting off-and-on for about as long as I can remember, but the bug really bit me about two years ago, and I haven't really been able to put down the needles since then. Socks have always been my default project, so of course this is the perfect swap group for me. :)
My most recent pair of completed socks are my Aurelia Socks, which I designed myself and knit up using my own hand-dyed sock yarn.

Hello all! Lots of sockapalooza virgins it seems, so I'm not alone! I've been knitting socks for about 2 years now, but I've only ever once in that time knit a pair not for me! (my family prefer wash-and-wear socks) Here's hoping I can make a pair to fit someone else's feet! You can find me at Knittingsheep.blogspot.com. looking forward to sock madness!

Hi Everyone! I know this is probably both a dumb question and the wrong place to ask it, so I apologize in advance, but I'm desperately trying to figure out how to put the cute little Sockapalooza link button on the side of my blog, and so far having NO luck. My email address is jay.s@villanova.edu if any kind soul feels like taking pity on my computer-illerterateness and offering a couple words of advice...
Thanks soooooo much in advance!

You rock. All of you. It feels like a small victory, just getting here. (Thanks, Blogger, and the three different computers, two different ISPs and Devon and Anne and...) Anyhow, sock. Yeah, for a lot of you, it's plural, but because I don't want my sock pal to get shorted, I'm knitting my first sock NOW. I'm about ready to move into whatever comes after the leg. I'll post a picture next time, but in the meantime, there are a couple of photos here. With any luck, I hope to finish this sock this weekend, and start on its twin too. Obviously, this is my first Palooza, but for email purposes, I've been calling it Sockza.
What's to say? I'm doing the Magic Loop method, with a worsted weight Artyarn. I'm loving it, even if it is going to be in the 80s on Monday.

Hello all! This is my first time in a sock exchange and I'm terribly excited. With 1000 participants there should be lots of great sock pictures to covet, hooray! You can visit my regular knitting at my blog http://mathgirlknits.blogspot.com

This is my first time on sockapalooooza! I am so happy to be part of this huge swap that reaches everywhere around the world. I just can't wait to get my pal's details and also to see all the beautiful works that will be posted here!
P.S. Was I the only one who had problems in posting a message here?

My first sockapalooza. I think this will be fun. My blog is not ready yet, but in the end of next week I hope I´m on net. And there is so many sockpatterns on net, and I think it is difficult to choose. God luck everyone!

Ok. I'm so excited to have gotten into Sockapalooza 4! I had heard about it last year from someone at my LYS, but didn't pay a whole lot of attention then because I wasn't knitting socks then. My life has conveniently decided to settle down for a while so I can concentrate of getting some socks knitted. I feel really privileged to be in this group. Right now I don't have a blog going (hope to change that soon) but I do have pictures posted on flickr--www.flickr.com/annastarzs. I'm also participating in Sock Madness 2007, this spring as well.

I'm Kristin and have been knitting a little over a year. This is my first sockapalooza and I am SO excited!! I love swaps!!
I have one completed pair of socks (Monkey) and am working on pair #2 right now (Jaywalkers). I love knitting socks and love sock yarn!!

I'm Kat, this is my third time and I just could not resist joining again even though I'm going to be carrying a big load this summer in classes. I have four kids, go to school full time, work part time and knitting is seriously my way to cope with everything. I love socks and it's so much easier to make socks for someone else than it is to make them for myself and knowing that there is a pair being made for me? Weeeeeee! It's so much fun to watch the socks as they grow! Looking forward to trying to read up on them!

Hey all -
Devon was talking to my friend Chan who was emailing with me..
And Devon figured out that if you copy and paste the URL in the email invite to join the blog, and then paste it into the browser and THEN do the login password.. it works! Worked like a charm for me - now whether posting will or not is something else.
And thank you for sponsoring this swap again! It's my first time, and I'm so excited and looking forward to it :)

Hi all,
I'm excited about participating in my first sock exchange. I've been knitting socks for just over a year and never felt ready before. It's good to be here.
Posted by Scrabblequeen at 9:02 AM 0 comments
I'm not feeling terribly articulate today (I stared at the subject bar and didn't come up with anything witty, so Hi! it is), but I wanted to say hello to all of the people in Sockapalooooza 4.
I did Sockapaloooza 3 where I was one of the lame bloggers who never posted their own updates but would look at lots of other people's socks. I've gotten better since then, so hopefully I will have sock and sock in progress pictures to show this time around.
I live in Massachusetts and have a yarn loving cat (I have to rip projects all the time for acts of cat). I'm studying computer science for fun at UMass Boston, but classes end in a few weeks and I will be spending some quality time with my 2.00 mm needles and some fine, fine yarn.

Well, after some serious technological difficulties (and two invites, thanks Alison!) I made it on. I was starting to feel a bit left out...
Anyhow, I'm now anxiously wondering which one of you lovelies I will be knitting for and which will be knitting for me! What fun!!! I love trying to figure it out, though I have to admit with 1000 participants this time around I probably won't even get close! (probably won't stop me from trying though)
This will be my THIRD Sockapalooza, missing out on the first by just mere days...it's great to see all the newbies, welcome y'all! Can't wait to see everyone knitting away...
Oh, and my blog... ;)

Hi! I've only ever knit Fuzzy Feet before and am starting on my first "real" socks ever (Twinkle Toes which you can see on my blog). With all the great sock patterns and yarns out, I had to join in on the fun.
I'm looking forward to getting my swap pal and seeing everyone what everyone chooses to knit.

Hi All!
I am a first timer, and very excited to begin knitting for my pal! I have been checking out fun sock yarn sites to get a wide variety of ideas for patterns and yarns so that I can be a little ahead of the game once I get my pal! I can't wait to get started!!!

I am a first time Sockapalooza participant and can't wait to receive my sock swap person. I have only knit 1 pair of socks, but I am working on my second. They are really the perfect project - easy to carry and small enough for a quick satisfaction. You can find me HERE. Happy Socks/Happy Feet! It will be great to have someone knit me something for a bit of a change. LOL

My name is Chelsea and this is my first time participating in any sort of swap so I am extremely excited. I can't wait to find out who my pal is and get started on the socks! I have a blog where I write about my knitting, crocheting and baking exploits so feel free to stop by and say hi.

Hi everyone! First time Sockapaloozer here, and I couldn't be more excited to be participating this time! I'm experiencing sock-knitting tunnel vision at the moment, so this KAL/swap is down-right perfect for me! And just to give y'all a glimpse of what's been on my mind lately...
SOCKS. I've put together a little visual list of socks I'm interested in at the moment, and the best part about this compilation is that every sock you see pictured above is available ::free:: on the internets. AND many of them were designed by knit bloggers like you and me who deserve some serious cred for being so darned creative! Want a better look at these fantastic (and perfect for Sockapalooza!) patterns? Come on over and visit my blog for some super link-tastic sock fun!
Can't wait to find out who my Sockapalooza4 pal is! It could be YOU!

Welcome to the home of sockapalooza four! Blogger cannot, it turns out, handle a blogging community this large, so we'll probably end up using this blog much less than I had imagined. Certainly those of you without blogs should be able to use it to post your progress but those of you with your own blog may find it easier just to post updates there. I will continue to use this blog to share info about sockapalooza. Once the usage dies down, those of you who have had problems posting may find it worth trying again. And for all of us, my techguys have worked out an awesome system for staying in touch with each other and following everyone's progress. Info coming soon!We will be posting our updates here this time. Everyone has now been sent a Blogger invite to join this blog. If you have a problem with your invite or didn't receive one let me know (alison AT knitsmiths DOT us) and I'll resend it. Follow the instructions in the invite and then start posting! (Never used Blogger before? Here's Blogger Help and Dummies Guide to Blogger.
You can write full posts here or just refer folks over to updates on your own blog. Link to your flickr or Photobucket progress pics too. Use the labels provided at the end of the post so we can keep track of progress updates and finished sock posts, etc.

Yay, Sockapalooza 4 is on the way!
I can't wait to get started; this might have something to do with the fact that I'm on a yarn diet (and I'm sticking to it... so far). The Sockapalooza finally gives me the opportunity to go out and get some new yarn, so maybe that's why I'm so excited. Anyways, I hope to get my pal's details soon!
