I prefer toe up socks and use the ea...Pretty sock. I prefer toe up socks and use the easy cast on (also called Eastern and about 100 other names) to doing a short row toe. My favorite way to do short row heels is to do garter stitch instead of st. You wrap the stitches but when you get to the second half of the heel you DON'T pick up the wraps. And no holes. And they are squishy and look nice. Hee Hee!
