Also try this one - I think it is easier than the turkish cast on as I have a problem of the cast on loops gaping a bit. This one is like a proper cast on, only using loops and seemless!
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/FEATmagiccaston.htmlAlice Yuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12303510432577599810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2739566414202687761.post-48371918592298905592007-05-01T17:16:00.000-07:002007-05-01T17:16:00.000-07:00http://fluffyknitterdeb.blogspot.com/2005/10/knitt...http://fluffyknitterdeb.blogspot.com/2005/10/knitting-made-easier-turkish-cast-on.html this is an awesome one (her next post explains the rest of it.) so simple and quite neatBeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17537990440131592946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2739566414202687761.post-47453002727656491442007-05-01T16:18:00.000-07:002007-05-01T16:18:00.000-07:00I just learned how to do toe up this year (back in...I just learned how to do toe up this year (back in February), though I've only done one sock so far. I have a link on my sidebar for toe up socks, which goes to Knitty.com. I'm not sure if it is the same one that trish is referring to, but I used the crochet cast on method and found that to work well. I'm actually anxious to do the second toe up (and many more). The toe up (and short row heel) wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be.Shelley L. It looks complicated but it designed to work with any yarn/foot size. Really genius. It looks intimidating, but if you work through it, you will find its very well written and easy to follow. As well, knitty has tutorials on all toe up cast ons.Trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06559594390529846387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2739566414202687761.post-27158407620653383232007-05-01T14:33:00.000-07:002007-05-01T14:33:00.000-07:00Hi Shari - I am still knitting on my first toe-up ...Hi Shari - I am still knitting on my first toe-up socks and didn't find it as scary as I thought it would be! Really you can convert any pattern from top down to toe up and vice versa. Anyway, I found this tutorial very helpful - http://misocrafty.squarespace.com/journal/2006/1/30/turkish-cast-on-tutorial.html.

Cheers,

-shannonShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03259636511521618582noreply@blogger.com
